( Southwestern Virginia's WARMUP for the Va. Open ! )
The February Fracas is a 4-Round, unrated, open chess tournament sponsored by the Roanoke Valley Chess Club. Time Control : G/30 with a 5 Second delay.
This tournament will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Roanoke Natural Foods Co-Op. The Co-Op is located in Roanoke, Va. at 1319 Grandin Rd. near Memorial Ave. SW. It is next door to the Va. Heights Baptist Church, directly across the street from the Grandin Theater.
Rounds will be played at 1:00 , 2:30, 4:00, 5:30.
Registration is $ 18.00 to the public, $ 15.00 each to RVCC members and to kids under 13 years of age.
Registration at the door will be from 12:00 noon - 12:45 pm February 20.
ALL ENTRIES ARE RETURNED AS PRIZES !!
1st: 40%, 2nd: 25%, 3rd: 15%, Top Under 1400: 10%, Top Jr: 10%.
The tournament will be held in one section.
USCF membership is NOT required for this event.
This is an unrated tournament. Scorekeeping is required.
Half point byes are available for any round if requested before round 1. ( Maximum # of byes-1. )
No Smoking. Wheelchair Accessible.
